Earth Worker Installation Art

Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Earth Worker Installation Art by Yu-Liang Chen, NewLocal Art Studio Earth Worker is an outdoor art installation placed in a wetland in Pingtung County, Taiwan. The semi-representative human figure stands in the water like a giant that creates all living things. One side of the body looks down at the earth, while the other side looks up at the sky. Glass fiber reinforced cement is the main material, applied over a metal frame and a sculpted foam core. The brushed cement mortar surface is left plain, without added color or patches. The installation refers to local history and to the culture of the Macadao people.
